CDS Africa Holds Second Series Of Youth Democracy
Forum At Wisconsin International University College, Ghana
The second series of CDS Africa’s Youth Democracy Forum was held on Friday,
March 8, 2024, at WISCONSIN INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY COLLEGE, GHANA ‘BLOCK C’.
Introduction
The second series of CDS Africa’s Youth Democracy Forum was held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at WISCONSIN INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY COLLEGE, GHANA ‘BLOCK C’. The forum which is an initiative being championed by Africa Center for Democracy and Socioeconomic Development (CDS Africa), a think tank that recognizes the importance of democracy in Africa’s growth and development, seeks to highlight the role of Ghanaian youth in the democratic process/dispensation.
The first series was held at the Daniel Mckorley Moot Court, GIMPA Law School, Accra, Ghana, on March 1, 2024. It empaneled industry players with sterling careers in the area of promoting democracy and academia such as Dr. Emmanuel Akwetey, Executive Director – IDEG, Madam Kathleen Addy, Chairperson – NCCE, and Prof. Alidu Seidu, Head of Department, Political Science, University of Ghana.
The second series hosted by Wisconsin International University College, Ghana also featured distinguished individuals made up of student leaders and a lawyer who facilitated an interactive session that ignited constructive dialogue and deepened understanding of the pivotal role the youth play in shaping Ghana’s democratic future.
HIGHLIGHTS
- The Programs Director of CDS Africa, Mr. Emmanuel Mensah touched on the importance of fostering an environment where young people can feel valued and equipped to contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s democratic process.

The SRC President of Wisconsin International University College, Ghana, Hakeem Enyan also buttressed the importance of education which he said was pivotal in ensuring participation on the part of the youth in our democratic discourse.

Lawyer Ekua Enyamah Kwainoe a panelist and Akosua Naana Lexis Obenewaa Opoku-Agyemang, a speaker at the event both commended CDS Africa for birthing the initiative and urged other bodies to emulate.
